Looking like an easy sweep for Miami this year... Bulls looked terrible against miami and the rest of the league is stuck in experiment mode...

Man, I was a huge fan back in the 90s and early 2000s. I have to agree with Unarmed Gunman here. But, since I am a Philly guy, the Sixers (Michael Carter Williams) are really giving me something to cheer about this year (so far).

Except the plan is to tank hard for another year or two, not win enough games to be mediocre and get another crappy pick.

Basketball is unwatchable now.

There are guys such as Ricky Rubio and Steph Curry, who haven't even made all star teams, that I would consider more than watchable. Larry Bird would agree, at least in regards to Rubio, as Bird said in an interview that he watches all his games. Bird praised Kevin Love, also.

There is zero parity in the league

There's been a salary cap since the 1980s. Over the past 5 years or so teams like Oklahoma City, Golden State, Memphis and Indiana have gone from among the worst to among the best.

and the refs do everything in their power to give the networks the playoff match-ups they want.

Maybe, but San Antonio (4th smallest tv market) made it to the finals again, and went against Memphis (2nd smallest) in the western finals. Oklahoma City (3rd smallest) was in the league finals the year before.

The #1 market NY Knicks have only been to 2 finals in the last 40 years.

I don't think miami will beat indiana, they barely beat them last year. They seem to be a much better team this year with the addition of scola and grainger

That's great and all, but in the last 30 years a grant total of 8 teams have won Championships.

LA - 8
Chicago - 6
San Antonio - 4
Detroit - 3
Boston - 3
Miami - 3
Houston - 2
Dallas - 1

And let's be honest, Houston wouldn't have won those two if Jordan hadn't retired so Chicago would probably have 8. Dallas was a bit of a fluke. Discounting that you're left with 6 dominant teams over the last 30 years.

Fuck that.

8 teams won during the 10 years of the 1970s, but the NBA remained more of a fringe league. The dominant 1980s Celtics and Lakers, and later the Bulls, were essential elements towards causing the rapid and humongous growth of the sport - though I don't think it would have hurt if a few other teams like Utah or whoever had won championships during those years.

Pacers have a strong team together, will be intresting to see if they can stop the heat. Apple tv + NBA LP is the best investment you can do.

I hope Dirk can lift the mavs back into the playoffs. With Monta Ellis and Calderon they got a nice boost compared to last year. Especially Monta plays awesome right now. He is the piece that the Mavs were missing last year. A great scorer who can drive to the basket and is intelligent and unselfish enough to make some nice passes. A strong center like Chandler or Hibbert is missing to make the Mavs a title contender again but in the playoffs everything is possible.

Even though I am Miami fan, I would not say so, GSW will be a good fight and OKC is also back, just need to get shit straight again. Semi's should show who's gonna be the favorite in the finals.

Fuck Ricky Rubio, he can't shoot, he's not fast, has no defense. Players in his position must have other skills, passing the ball is not enought.

Regular season is just a training camp imo. Boston took last place in their conference 2 years back and almost went to take back their title.

Miami is missing strong power forward like Chandler, their defense will have trouble like last year against GSW, They know their leaks, just wondering what weapons will they use and if they gonna work. Its like a game of chess. Sacrifice one piece to take your bitch and the rule the board.
