Things I did while Wickedfire was down...



Made money. Posted on a blog I haven't touched in 2 years about WF being down. Posted in DP thread - what can I say, I was bored. Posted on one other forum and recommended WF BST. Have to go back to give link to guy to thread here. Made more money. Submitted sites to directory. Looked into building directory. Bought another website I would actually have time to build if WF went down again. Set my dryer on fire - that was interesting. Researched the difference between 240v 3 prong and 4 prong plugs on new dryer.

Wicked Fire must never go down again, or my whole house may go up in flames.

Found an awesome article about some guys using a shitload of cheap vps accounts across the globe to host a bunch of light-weight front-end servers used as reverse proxy for their main server.

Combined with round robin A records in the DNS zone pointing to those vps's, they managed to deal with a flood of something like 2Gbps for only $160/mo.

All in all, cool story.

went to Jaco and Esterillos Oeste, hung out on the beach and drank....a whole weekend without trolling the mailer section or hitting F5 repeatedly yelling "what in the FUCK is wrong with WF!!" it was sweet....
