only morons would spend on these.

My boss at my previous job collected watches, had a few mills worth. Said he made money off selling them to other collectors. Apparently there's long ass waiting lists and shit on some of the rare Swiss ones.

I think he saw it as an investment.

Watches appreciate in value, even when used. The appreciation sucks balls but it at least appreciates and holds its value.

A Rolex Submariner bought 20 years ago has only increased around $2k in value.

I would say the price is still the same today as was 20 years ago if you take into account the inflation rate.

That's where you dun goofed.

Do you have any idea how many of these are floating around.

You know there are OTHER watch makers in the world.

I would buy a g-shock (simple black) before a rolex.

Patek, Auds, Tags, IWC or Breitling if you're seeking classics that will appreciate over time

Eww at Breitling. The gift that every person joining the Navy gets from their family if they have money. Rolexes actually look nice, and are a classic, to the extent that nearly 60 years on, the major watch brands are still copying their look.

did you guys ever take a look on prices of used watches?
maybe you will notice they are 50% or more off.
why else would anybody buy something used in first place?

of course, there might be some rare collector pieces or well maintained vintage pieces, but that's a different story and your average rolex or breitling has nothing to do with that.

tl;dr; your pimp watch is 50% off on ebay
