- Require background checks for all gun sales
- Strengthen the background check system for gun sales
- Pass a new, stronger ban on assault weapons
- Limit ammunition magazines to 10 rounds
- Finish the job of getting armor-piercing bullets off the streets
- Give law enforcement additional tools to prevent and prosecute gun crime
- End the freeze on gun violence research

- Ensure quality coverage of mental health treatment, particularly for young people

Whatever your view on Gun Control, this fight is going to be very educational from a marketing point of view. Both sides are masters at framing the argument so that it fits their aims exactly.
They should also add:

Never let the "kids" of today off the gov's teet.
And they wonder why most of the younger generation are not motivated and lazy... we should keep nurturing them! That will fix it!
I don't have a problem making schools "safer" but the wording and mostly likely their implementation gets to me.

The New York Times recently did a similar multimedia type presentation on a story about an avalanche that killed 3 skiers at Stevens Pass in WA State. It's about 18k words with very cool video integration and timeline of the tragedy.
