Recently we've all experienced a major shift in the negative-option paradigm. After witnessing several continuity programs go under, it appears that the way to win at the rebill is to do it 1 time and make it clearly non-refundable. In order to do this and withstand the blow of chargebacks you need a clear and conspicuous refund policy. Additionally, state the terms by the product option, i.e.:

Caproxen Trial$59.95 Only $5.95 S&HReceive a whole bottle to try for 14 days.14 Day Trial: Try before you buy, pay only s/h today. You will be charged a non-refundable $119.93 in 14 days for Unlimited Free Refill Program unless canceled giving you NO Monthly Charges!
Free Refills! To cancel trial, email returns@fobeco.com or call 1-800-360-5907.

My experience so far is that this converts very well because consumers are not only enticed by the "free" trial but also are enticed by unlimited free refills. any thoughts on these offers? any conversion data?

We've been thinking of different options for our continuity program as well. Any feedback would be appreciated, as we're trying to decide which way to go as well.

How about sharing you conversion data first?

This all sounds fine and dandy, but it's a lot more complicated. For MANY people, a charge over $100 on their card won't go freely. We are talking about the bank calling the card holder and verifying the transaction.

Months ago I worked closely with an Acai adv, and he was rebilling at $70/mo. We decided to see it we could bump that to $110/mo so my payout can increase. Soon as we did that, conversion rates went down 30% due to the charge bounching. We switched right back.

it's important to note that whether you win the chargeback or not, it still counts against you. im sure you know that, i was mostly posting for the others' sake.

He may have meant avoid the chargeback altogether if the cardholder actually knows what they are getting in to.

To the OP regarding the lifetime thing, if I sign up for Caproxen as in your example you guys are going to mail it to me for the next 50 years for just $119?
