Time To Give Up My Extremist Libertarian Ideologies... I've Seen The Light.

its ironic how most aff marketers here are anti-gov't when we are prime examples of market failings/cost to society. Admit it, we peddle shit to stupid people, and it causes damage, and the market isn't doing shit to "Correct" us because thats not what the market does effectively.
Really? Because as I saw it the government hasn't done a great job at stopping shady rebills aside from some token victories.
If anyone else recalls the early days where you could run berries everywhere, things changed quickly and not because of the government.

1) Users complained to site owners.
2) Site owners complained to ad networks.
3) Ad networks disallowed certain types of ads.

That happened a huge number of places: Most large media buying platforms, Google Adwords, Yahoo, Facebook, etc. There were also places like AdBlade that started actively reviewing for negative option billing, excessive monthly fees, etc.

Those companies acting on consumer pressure did more to slow the spread of shady rebills than anything the government has ever done.

Several of you are acting like idiots here.

What he's explaining - violent people eventually protecting you, occasionally giving you a bridge - that's government. Information control, public schooling, it's all here.

Did anyone here watch past the first 5 minutes? It becomes really clearly satire. At the end he even says "Wait a minute...awwww, shit" solidifying that point.
Yeah I believe this video was made by a Libertarian. Look at the channel, it certainly seems to have Libertarian leanings.

You're probably thinking that I'm some kind of hippie that blindly trusts government.
No, that's not what I think.

First, it's my and Mattseh's new meme to tell people to stop posting, so I was being a little funny.

Second, many people don't have a theory of value or human action, and so they apply objective judgments (their own values) to subjective domains (the individual values of everyone), as you did.

Third, did you know that Smaxor is one of the most successful guys from/@ Wickedfire?

Did you know he got introduced to IM by a Bizopps offer?

I am not defending fraud or scams. But not everyone in IM is doing that. And not all CPA offers have a negative effect.

You're ignorantly (probably well-intentioned) painting with such a broad brush that the colors are running together into one incoherent wall of muck.

Fourth, the market does correct, but we're not in a free market. You're promoting a strawman.

Having lived in the US, where the government tells you which direction to wipe when you are done in the ladies room, it was total culture shock to come to a country where there is very little government intervention (though admittedly what meddling the Mexican goverment does decide to undertake usually involves armed forces.)

I think the American government crosses the line when it tries to protect adults from themselves. Or stupid people from falling into tar pits. This is unnatural. Stupid, weak people are supposed to be weeded out by natural selection. My heartstrings quiver a bit when we are talking about offspring of stupid people but to be brutally honest these children will most likely walk in their stupid parent's footsteps. If you help their parents you will later have to help their children. It's sink or swim.

The point- What should happen to people that are too stupid to not blow their cash on acai/get sucked in to silly marketing ploys/don't read the fine print? They should lose their money. Ideally, in a truly natural system they would either scrape their way back up (stronger) or they would starve to death. No welfare, no hand outs, do or die. Think of them as gimpy antelopes, it's for the good of the herd.

Agree 1000000%

the government is PART of the market.

The government loves that you think this, in fact because you blindly justify their existence, you qualify for a reach around the next time they fuck you in the ass. Its just one of the many services you would not have received if there was no government.

It's unique ability to force pricing is a useful tool in how we control markets and reduce the downsides to the market distribution method of scarce resources we currently have.

Ask the soviets about price controls.

Forget about politics altogether that's what I have done. What a total waste of fucking time politics is. As if we will change anything. Focus on things that will improve your life.

This has basically been my plan. Live well. Enjoy life. Everything else is secondary.

hardly, ...if you keep up with the news a bunch of networks got hit by the FTC in March
the govt. is sometimes slow to react, but often do if enough people complain

If nothing else it's a good reminder why the words we use to describe things are so important.
