I also have no voice in the not-so-secret government. And I don't know a fraction of what they are doing.

This secret government has a budget of "tens of billions".

The not-so-secret? Its budget is measured in trillions.

Always follow the money. Then you will know where the power lies, where the real story is.

Two clicks from that NSA story and I was reading someone's rant about how flouride really doesn't prevent tooth decay ... a conspiracy.

Hiding budgets and spending is one of the main reasons for making things classified. Hundreds of little empires are being built by competing little tyrants in the government, each claiming the utmost in importance while insisting nothing can be revealed due to national security concerns. So it just grows bigger and bigger. The only way to kill it is to starve it. As long as you are letting them in your pockets you are feeding them.

Note that if you are doing something really nasty there is no "hiding" in the itnernet. They will get you with intelligence attacks and deductions.
 
encerypting with truecrypt holds in court. They weren't able to decrypt it(the fucking FBI) and they weren't able to make the user give his key.

That is good enough for me.

If you are doing stuff that truecrypt doesn't cut it for you, you better live in a Cave in Somalia, otherwise expect the CIA/NSA to knock on your door.

You have "dangerous" political views? You either choose to speak them, and contribute to the assessment profile being built on you, or you keep it to yourself. You choose silence in fear, you give in, you lose...or you speak up and risk persecution. It's a clear fucking choice.
