What about the 80-something floors of beams below those? To claim that the kerosene flowed down and filled up the entire tower beneath around those beams is lunacy writ large.

This is the article that got linked to in the other thread. The government initially went with the "pancaking" theory (and anyone who questioned it was called a lunatic by many) but then they replaced it with an "inward bowing" theory.

According to NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) :

"failure of the inwardly bowed perimeter columns initiated collapse and that the occurrence of this inward bowing required the sagging floors to remain connected to the columns and pull the columns inwards. Thus, the floors did not fail progressively to cause a pancaking phenomenon."

I think you guys give too much credit to a tug-o-war government's ability to successfully complete an operation like this.

Being in a Marine Corps infantry unit, I have a few friends in the socom community and a TS clearance of my own, enough to know that even the simplest operations get botched by some ridiculous detail and the least competent people in ANY and ALL operations are the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Whether it's the DMV or an operation to capture Osama Bin Laden, you have a better chance of willing yourself a stack of cash than witnessing the government successfully complete a task without any significant hiccups. The JCOS have little ability to pull off a planned operation from start to finish, much less something as elaborate and as synchronized as this.

The government isn't that fucking mysterious. You guys need to stop staring at current events like a bunch of housewives watching the Kardashians. These idiots have as much idea about running a country as we do of Google's algorithm.

Okay, I'll elaborate.

It's not a matter of technology that causes our operations to come to a screeching hault or an anti-climatic conclusion. It's the fact that the Tops don't have a fucking clue beyond their S-2 (intel analysts) reports. And that's not always a good thing. In fact, oftentimes the S-2 is a botched operation, although I've heard they run a tighter ship in Quantico.

Regardless, technology we have. The ability to synchronize, we have hardly mastered.

As rebels, their job to bring down a plane requires them to what? Learn to fly an aircraft? Sharpen a few pieces of plastic? Get froggy and leap? I don't mean to downplay the elaborate planning that was needed on their part, but it was not difficult in comparison to a JCOS' requirement of literally attacking its own nation and then covering it up without missing a beat. And no, you conspiracy theorists don't count as "a beat".

I need to remind you that we can't successfully conduct our own operations against the enemy, muchless against ourselves.

I can't possibly get you to understand this concept. Less than 1% of the American population has actively served in this war time, and the hardest thing I've discovered is trying to relate these experiences to skeptics.

Come check it out for yourself. It sucks, and I don't seriously recommend it, but I do promise there will be an "Aha" moment, and all of your skepticism will be overshadowed by dumbfoundedness.
