Tools to edit mov files for youtube

Before I go about learning the hardway maybe some of you guys can help.

I have a few movie files I purchased and want to edit them down to use on youtube. They are huge files 98mb & 60mb, so I need to reduce them and also put my website url into them.

Any advice greatfully accepted

windows movie maker should do the trick

i dont think moviemaker accepts mov. you might have to convert it first. or you could download videostudio 10 off of bittorrent, its like moviemaker on stereoids and it takes mov files

I'd suggest Sony Vegas Movie Studio - you can get it for around $100 and it's got a short learning curve.

I hope its better than the piece of crap I got with my dvd camcorder ... Image mixer I think it was called. Will investigate this thanks.

i still recommend ulead videostudio; used it for a bunch of projects and its really easy to use, because of the simple interface. i tried sony vegas too and it seemed like a good product but a little more complicated.

I use Microsoft movie magic. I edited the video I shot in vegas with it:

however, it is limited in its capabilities. I would like to position text different, add graphics, etc... Its easy to understand though. Good for chopping stuff up. Can take a long ass time to import files.
