I'm sure you've all heard about this internet reality show created by Thor from Joel Comm's NextInternetMillionaire, but I'm just wondering how you guys think it will play out. I was just looking at it a little more today and noticed that the "coaches" for the program are John Chow, Ken McArthur, and Shoemoney.

I don't logically understand why they chose John Chow. He's not an affiliate for this type of show in my opinion. They are going to be doing PPC (or am I wrong - the time span for the show is two weeks to a month or so?). John Chow was at Affiliate Summit last year and even stated at a conference with Amit and someone else that he is a blogger who doesn't know PPC.

And Shoemoney, I know he did some stuff with ringtones a year or two ago. I don't know if he still does the same thing or if he has moved on to running his other businesses.

So what do you guys think? I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I think to have 12 people fly across the country for "coaches" who are not really experts is wrong. At least Joel Comm got together a bunch of trainers who really excelled in what they did when he had NIM last year.

like all that self-branded bullshit, who cares. Good for them for branding themselves and making money off of it, but those making the real money wouldn't ever be recognized by the dork crowd who spends 4 hours daily reading everyone's blogs and trying to keep up on the gossip. In fact not only would they not be recognized in person, their names wouldn't ring any bells either.

Where do I sign up for ubercamp again?
 
Why don't they do a super affiliate/blogger version of MXC with chow, shoemoney, hambone I mean Amit, and the rest of them?

I don't see how it is harmless. I'm waiting to see John Chow and the others show up on a kitten killing site like in the movie Untraceable. "The more that watch, the quicker they die." And the thing about it being gay- someone else said their might even be a circle jerk.

No, but seriously, I don't see how misleading people is harmless.

Actually you're wrong. Jeremy is the only one on that panel with a real clue when it comes to affiliate marketing etc. I know he still does big money with it even now (despite running other sites etc) and he is actually a very smart guy who knows his shit when it comes to internet marketing. I know we love to hate him around here but just saying, he actually knows what the fuck he is doing unlike the other two clowns.

In fact, he is the only one out of those 3 "experts" who belong there. Seriously, John Chow? The guy writes a fucking blog about what he had for dinner everyday, he struck gold with it but really I doubt he has a clue about affiliate marketing and he's a toolbox for starters. This Ken McArthur character seems like another seedy snake oil crappy ebook salesman to me. From what I can tell the only thing he has been succesful at was selling an overpriced "How to get rich online" package to people without a clue.

Wasn't Shoemoney doing "Free" ringtones and even promoted it on his early webmaster radio shows then allegedly turned rat to the Feds to avoid being included himself in the legal troubles related to the false advertising that was going on promoting free ringtones when they weren't free ?

Not saying he doesn't know his shit, but, it's always bugged me that he alledegly got off with zero trouble in this free ringtone shit.

Hell, they aren't even in OUR industry, they are in the get rich quick industry. The JoelComm industry. I like Joel Comm though. He's a pretty cool guy in person and fun to talk to, but not in our industry so I don't feel as if I have any sort of obligation to share business with him.

Kinda funny how all of these imbeciles constantly jump from one failing from the start project to the next, and put allllll the hype and high pricing around it.

You know what the real kicker of this shit is? That the kid behind it was on that Next Internet Millionaire internet show that sucked balls... and he lost. But that he also said "I'm a total newbie" -- and yet, he goes from total newbie to super fucking affiliate in under 10 months?! That's like saying you're a ninja or karate master after 10 months from being a lowly white belt and practicing with the 8-year olds!

Cmon you retards, I know you're reading this thread. I'm not going to pick a fight with you guys about it, but seriously, when are you guys going to stop being so foolish about your business and project choices? Either give it all up and go away, or come right out and just tell the fucking truth already. The more you guys do these stupid contests, shows, mini-conferences, the more of a laughing stock you guys become. The only people who like you guys, are scammers and newbies. I dunno about you, but that's a pretty damn shitty reputation to be building on.

Anyone who advertises on these blogs are either dumb as shit because they'll only snag newbies, or absolute scammers and will take just about anyone who is willing to be their next sucker with a buck.
 
I have watched the 5 min introduction to the first show & everything they have said is BS.

You are about to see internet history in the making. We have twelve aspiring entrepeneurs & three of the worlds greatest affiliate marketers here in Lincoln Nabraska for a first of its kind competition.

Nobody has ever collected this much talent & put it on display for all to see & learn from on the web.

People have said it couldn't be done. People have told our gurus that they are wasting their time, and people have been angered that tips, tricks & techniques that only the top elite affiliate marketers know, will be exposed on the web for all to see.
