Hope none of you were affected. It got pretty nasty for a bit by my house, but nowhere close to what hit Alabama, Mississippi and Georgia.

I've only been through 1 before when I was 11 or so. Scared the shit out of me when all the air suddenly turned ice cold and it was impossible to run in a straight line without losing balance and being picked up by the winds.

Glad that you didn't get hurt though.

I am lucky, the storms went right above my area.

Tuscaloosa, AL and Birmingham, AL however got hit by a fucking mile wide EF5 tornado. The University of Alabama was hit pretty badly, and there are parts of Tuscaloosa that were literally leveled.

Here's some pictures a friend of a friend posted on Facebook. Everyone should be able to view it, I believe the photos are public. You can see the amount of damage clearly: Facebook

Luckily my friends and family in both Tuscaloosa and Birmingham are all safe.

My family down in Alabama hasn't contacted us yet and we are going to head down tomorrow regardless to help them clean up. It's pretty bad though from the pictures I've seen on the news.

We were lucky enough to get spared for the most part here in PA. Surprisingly there was no tornado warnings for my county yet two were believed to have touched down. Still, nothing close to as bad as what went on down south. I can't even imagine what the damage is going to end up costing.

Death toll for all the Southern tornadoes is now over 230. I'm pretty sure more than half of those are Alabama alone.

I saw some reports that the number could climb close to 1,000 people. There's still so many people missing.

Interested to see if Storm Chasers series (on disc. channel) will return this year with another season.. if so they'll be covering all this shit.

this shit is truly wild. i've seen a piss ant level 1 funnel in real life and nearly shit myself. i can only imagine being anywhere near an F5

25,000 in my area without power (western NY), no tornados but the dam power has been out for a day. Had to go to Panera Bread to work.
