Hi ya'll! I am brand spanking new to this and just started my first blog to get my feet wet. I really know nothing about making money on the internet, but really want to learn. This is the blog Odd Stuff For Sale on Ebay

I applied for an adsense account but it was declined due to "adult content". So, what are my options for:
1: Driving Traffic to the Blog
2: Getting Ads that I can be paid for when people click on them?

Also, is this blog a stupid idea? My ultimate goal was to have many, many profitable blogs, but am a little clueless as to what content would be popular/pay.

Sorry I'm so uniformed about this, I really appreciate your help!

Here's the deal...

OK, I signed up with BidVertiser, but the HTML they provided is not working, I keep getting this error message: Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed. Please make sure all XML elements are closed properly. XML error message: The reference to entity "bid" must end with the ';' delimiter.

But I have no idea where to put that ';" thingy.

Sorry, I am very clueless, I know. If you all help me and tell me, honestly, (I can take it) what you think of the blog I will post lot's of pictures of boobs! (Not my own boobs, I'm married, but other people's boobs.) Cool?

Thanks!
Amy

is there a bidvertiser forum? otherwise maybe post the html here and maybe someone will help? take as much out as you possibly can to help debug.

This is the code from bidvertiser:

<!-- Begin BidVertiser code -->
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript1.1" SRC="<A href="http://bdv.bidvertiser.com/BidVertiser.dbm?pid=48134&bid=112313"></SCRIPT">http://bdv.bidvertiser.com/BidVertiser.dbm?pid=48134&bid=112313"></SCRIPT>
<noscript><a href="<A href="http://www.bidvertiser.com">affiliate">http://www.bidvertiser.com">affiliate program</a></noscript>
<!-- End BidVertiser code -->

And here are some boobs:

Thank you for your help!

Just to mention, bidvertiser was pretty bad in my experience. I would experiment with a few different ad networks and see which one works best for you.

Hey Amy (btw thats my sisters name lol) have you thought about doing something different then blogging/blogs?

Now what?

Errrr...that means you think my little attempt at a blog sucks, right?

I had thought about becoming a professional fluffer, (house fluffer)
house fluffer (HOWS fluf.ur) n. A decorator who recommends improvements and renovations designed to maximize a house's sale price.
but that is waaay to much work so I tossed that idea out the window.

Any suggestions?

i think anything that makes you money is far from sucking. im not making a dime so dont listen to me im still "investing" my money in this. how r u getting traffic to ur blog? Try pushing something besides AdSense. pm me if u want but theres others here way more experiance then I am :)

Hi Amy...

wow... posting boobs! Ha, my kinda woman.

<a href="http://www.bidvertiser.com">affiliate">http://www.bidvertiser.com">affiliate program</a>
</noscript>
<!-- End BidVertiser code -->

LOL... I post a lot of boobie pics, still had to buy my own copy of
Adsense Secrets - how to become a multimillionaire in 10 days
<damn, no blink tag?>

Or did you mean personal boob pics?

Actually, I did get the bidvertiser html to work yesterday and the ads showed up. Then I signed up as an affiliate for Adam and Eve because I thought that was a good fit for my blog. Now that I have posted those banners, my bidvertiser ads have disappeared. Oh well. I'm about ready to give up on all of this. It's too complicated for me.:hollering:

I couldn't even get the boob photos to post properly on this forum, so maybe I am looking into the wrong line of work. I just can't think of any other way to make money while sitting at home in my jammies... sigh....

Um

submit a 100% clan blogger blog to adsense

once you get accepted put the code on your other blogs and make sure there is NO adult content with adsense ads on it? Simple

Learn HTML, seriously, amy.

Your problems sound like a forgotten closing for a tag.

and I agree, blogger is still good. Google love all the way.

3 things...

Why would you think ads for adult products would sell on a blog about weird ebay stuff? Not to mention that one of the ads has nudity in it, no wonder adsense rejected you. Many affiliate networks will reject you too if you have adult content. Not to mention that it's just, um, not polite, to have stuff like that on a blog that isn't obviously an adult site. Someone could happen across your blog from work and get in a lot of trouble.

Second, you should put some plainer text in the ebay link, between the <a href="..."> and the </a>, so that your visitors don't see all that crap. Maybe something like "View this auction" or something.

Third, learn some HTML. You'll find plenty of basic HTML books in any bargain bin.

I think your blog has potential, it's an interesting topic.

amy at least be proud that you took the initiative to try something. most ppl dont even try.

i would definitely recommend reading through the forum more. there are a lot of great tips to get you going. through reading through this site you will get a lot more ideas on what you can try to make some money (list building, ppc->cpa, ppc->cpc arbitrage, affiliate marketing, virtual products/ebooks, vre/sites, ect).

earning money from adsense isnt easy especially if you are trying to do it with organic traffic and not ppc.

to get into adsense just create a family friendly site and reapply. they will accept you this time.

btw you dont need to learn html right away if you want to use a html editor to double check your code. :-)

good luck
