I figured if I start tracking my keywords I could start making good cash if I know what's converting. Although after some time now (few months), I still record every keyword that converted. I haven't been able to make this data useful.

I think it could be since many of my keywords are 3+ long tail, and if they're long tail they only get so much traffic so raising bids doesn't do anything. I've raised bids on a couple keywords but I get charged about the same, minimum bid. Every time I get a sale most of the time it's a new keyword, so every time I record a conversion it's a new keyword. I have many thousands of keywords in every campaign.

Last month, I went to all those keywords that converted in the previous few months, and raised all the bids to get a good amount of traffic and hoping for conversions since the same keywords had converted. At the end of the month, I ended up losing in the long run, or making a couple dollars with a couple campaigns, much less than usual. Compared to my stats from the previous month, I made much more with all my bids at minimum bids.

So, what's the use in tracking keywords if campaigns with keyword lists so large that all the sales are all random?

Only thing that it's helped me with is expanding on my keyword lists. Example if I'm promoting "widgets", and I see that "red widgets" gets hits, then I can go and create and expand on a keyword list specifically for "red widgets". Although, that hasn't helped much. I get sales here and there, but I have to keep everything at minimum bid.

Any suggestions as to how to make this data useful?

Thanks
