I actually didn't jump to a conclusion. I saw it was the Onion, and guessed it was a joke.

I was pointing out that others took it at face value, and perhaps turning down the tinfoil-hat dial on your posts about the forthcoming apocalypse might be a good idea, lest you risk becoming a self-parody.

Sometimes whispering is more effective than shouting.
