TrueCrypt Compromised

By in the same boat I meant their computational abilities to crack TrueCrypt.

I would venture to guess the FBI isn't even in the same league as the NSA in terms of their computational abilities to do anything. The FBI is still fumbling around with warrants trying to get wiretap approvals while the NSA captures every digital transmission made.

The FBI is like your local police on steroids, the NSA is unlike anything the world has ever seen.

The FBI is law enforcement, the NSA is not. Aside from having well known 3-letter acronyms, the two agencies have nothing in common, particularly in regards to their access and abilities.

The FBI has to work within the confines of making a case prosecutable in court, which includes making public some of their investigative tactics. The NSA has no such constraints and would certainly never expose their secrets to help prosecute a criminal case.

NSA and FBI share the knowledge, build cases and work on them. One have more power in prosecuting and taking up to the court while another supports with technical stuff, hacking and information. Matter in fact, they do expose and take people to court, they have been hacked so many times, its not even funny. Federal law criminal charging guide lines starts from 1.5 year. Data provided by NSA will be hidden and available to certain amount of people.

maybe they were being forced to backdoor, in an attempt to make it not happen they shut everything down.
