Trying to get media coverage on major blogs

You should look at hitting some of the big tech podcasts. Having a guy like leo laporte mention your kickstarter can have some serious impact. If your product is as great as it looks, than dont just email these places. Send about 50 of them out and get them in the hands of these influencers.

Why not do deals with some easier sites first to build buzz and momentum?. The "big" boys would want to talk to you when you've already got some results in the bag. When you have proven that your idea is popular. Just my 2 cents.
Yeah this is what we've started out with as mentioned in my first post, but we're hoping now to move up a little to the 'bigger fish' so to speak :)

This guy automated the whole thing and gives away EVERY step of it (scripts, email templates, all of it)

Hmm, interesting tip there about podcasts, thanks. Hadn't heard of Laporte before either but will add this to my list.
Yeah, I had a small set of promo units made that have mostly been sent out by now, and small handful left that I believe are spoken for.

BTW.. how much?
It hasn't been set in stone yet, but will be announced soon through our newsletter, and then our site. It will definitely be one of the most affordable stabilizers out there. (Most others are $150++ or into the hundreds)

This is a great thread with the kind of info I'm looking for. I'm developing article marketing as a part of my copywriting business, and finding it's very hard to get traction with the larger sites.

A couple of questions: I currently work for Examiner.com as a contributor. What are some other easier sites to hook up with?
