This is perfect for a site I was thinking about doing.

A few questions though.

Can it be added to any theme?

Is it possible to make it do reviews on actual people?

When building the site can you make sub sections for the reviews. Like if I had a hosting review site. Could I make sections for hosts that offer VPS, Cheap Hosting, Dedicated Hosting and so on.

Also can there be sub reviews from the reviews like I set up a review and then more people can write the reviews. Comment on the reviews. Add a review for something on that site.

What do you mean about reviews on actual people? If your post or page is about an actual person, and you put the text above your comment/rating box "review this person", then sure.

Lets say I have a site and that site has employees. Is there like a way that site can have subcatagories reviewing the employees that work for it?

I edited my last post with some more questions not sure you caught them

Jason, have you worked with WordPress before? As a plugin, this adds functionality to WordPress, but it doesn't take any away.

For your "subcategories of reviews" question, you would create WP categories. When you post about a shared host, you tick off the shared hosting category. When you post about a dedicated host, you tick off the dedicated category. Most themes, including the sample theme, show a list of categories in the sidebar, but you can put them anywhere in the theme.

About reviewing employees, make a post or a page about each employee. This plugin adds the ability to collect ratings with the comment form, and the comment form can appear on any post or page of WordPress.

Take a moment to think about what people have done with WordPress. It's not just a blogging engine, it's a full CMS. I don't know of any other plugin that adds multi-dimensional star ratings to comments and works with WP 2.5+, so what are you comparing to?
 
Can any respected members here vouch for the product? If so, I might be willing to give it a whirl. If not, how about throwing up a few free copies to established members to review? I'd volunteer... but would be happy with insight from somebody here whose opinion I trust.

product looks legit. but at $299 for multi-site, that seems very steep. especially when you compare what you get at phpBay Pro for $79 (comparison of one premium paid plugin vs. another - not on comparable features). $99 for multi-site would seem like a better price. but no lying - that review site he posted is smoking!

Dan, if you're looking for someone to do a comparisson between the free options and your paid version, I'd certainly take a look w/ a complimentary multi-site license. ;)
 
I would like to see someone get a review going on this.

I like the idea of it and just thinking about it for few minutes have come up with tons of things I would be able to do with it.
 
SB Review is based on 1.1.1 of this plugin, which is almost 2 years old and written against WP 1.x. Even if you can get it to work, it's just too buggy. For example, when spammers fill in a comment form with no ratings, their ratings count against the averages even when you delete the spam. 2.0 fixed all the bugs and added real administration screens, the easier setup, included theme that has it preinstalled, the ability to sort posts by weighted average, etc.

Review copies: I'm going to send download links to radio and trigatch4 since they've volunteered. Give it a try and let 'em know what you think. The concept of the plugin is simple, but it makes some really effective sites :)

A review from a few respectable members (I'll volunteer as well) would be great. I've been looking around for some software like this for WP.
 
yes a review from a respectable member would be great, I think you must be giving out some free copies, what I like is that any theme can be customized and used with this plugin .
 
I've already sent two review copies out, let's give 'em a chance to download it and try :) BTW, if anyone wants to give it a try but doesn't want to jump on the multi site license right away... if you buy the single site license and decide to upgrade, I'll refund you the difference, just PM me.
 
will get some feedback up tomorrow. i won't waste my time on comparing to the sb plugin - but it might be good to list all the improvements over that plugin like you alluded to above. clearly your plugin has a much more visually interesting rating system (looks slick, nice user interface, good layout) than sb. i was thinking about using sb and improving the visual elements - but if there's backend stuff (i.e. spam rating errors) you should lay that out in a follow up post. i'm still thinking the price is a bit high, but with the commissions that hosting companies pay, it can be earned back pretty quick. like i said, more tomorrow (and i'll even use paragraphs).
