Any ideas how to test and collect data when running Content Network campaigns without using super high bids and budgets?
It seems you either have to get lucky off the bat by having the right keywords/ads to get consistent traffic or you have to be willing to lose tons of money to basically buy enough data to see where your offer converts.
From reading and testing it seems G will give you an initial burst of traffic on a CN campaign. G is testing to see how much your ads can make them compared to the other ads that appear on sites your keywords trigger. If you can’t make them more money than the other guys your impressions go to crap.
What do you guys do when impressions stop? I’ve found adding new adgroups/ads don’t help because you already lost out on the initial burst.
My current strategy is taking a campaign that died after a day or two and putting up a whole new campaign only using the best ads/adgroups. Most times I get a much better CTR but impressions still die after a day even though my max bid is never touched.
