U-Refer - Anyone heard of it?

We're looking for a good way to handle customer referral program. They want $2500 bucks "set up" and then a percentage of each payout you give to a referral, ie: if you award $100 bucks, they want $10 bucks-- that's more than OK for us, since we'd be giving away $100 bucks for a $2400 purchase (we sell print advertising). I'm just trying to find another way to do this if there is such a thing, where we don't have to pay the $2500.

We bought WP Affiliate Pro and WP Store... we've got practically no one whose signed up to be an affiliate through these systems-- haven't promoted them and I don't know if they can be used to run an offline referral program...

We have a lot of business customers (about 500) who pay an average of $250/month for our print advertising. Pretty much everybody in 9 cities where we send our magazines know of us, so we're thinking that it's time to let loose on a customer referral service where everyone and their brother can say, "hey I know of a business owner who totally would advertise in The Reader, and I want to make the $100 bucks".

So we're looking for a good referral program (not one limited to a person with web experience who can post banner ads into websites) but a referral program that takes advantage of our strength-- our familiarity, and the fact we have advertising that most businesses like given the price points.

So... that's it. We want to do what the U-Refer motto says, "Make the world our sales force"...

Thanks for reading...

I'm not totally sure what you are looking for.

If it's just a way to refer customers to your site I would say check out Hasoffers.com

Along with enabling links for your in house referrals, you will also be able to share your offer with other networks that can add to your sales. Once you get the hang of that through Has Offers you may want to expand to other networks like CJ and Linkshare.
