I'm sure he was hoping to lure Chris into his web, so to speak, and then "bring the heat" any moment ... but nobody plans on getting knocked out. It's exactly what *should* have happened the way Silva was "fighting". I don't see Weidman holding the belt for too long, but who knows...

Here's an interview he did before the fight. At the 5min mark, the interviewer asks him what the perfect fight against Chris Weidman would be like and he says the perfect fight would be for Chris to be the new champion. Also says he didn't want a rematch because he's tired, which is the same thing he said right after the fight was over.

I had heard there was going to be a surprise statement from gsp post fight, and expected a super fight or something but I didn't hear anything at all.
