buddy got me into EPL about 4 years ago, he was a Spurs fan. After watching them for about half a season, I became a fan. Now I'm hooked. Even got to meet Keane down on the pitch pre-Liverpool swap, and went to Wembley last year for the Carling Cup Final.

Nice, what did you think to Wembley?

I got to see Blackpool promoted from there in 06/07 season to the Championship, the atmosphere was incredible.

I heard we beat Spain in football 2 to 0 but I was confused 'cause I don't how a two point conversion can be scored without the initial touch down. Those Eurpopeans must not understand how football works.

Safety?

pretty much the whole world cares about that result besides US fans. There is a reason it's the #1 sport in the world, we just don't seem to get it.

That reason is because it is cheap...all that is required is a Ball...Football requires more equipment...basketball is just a shitty sport so other countries don't care about it...baseball is huge in most of central and south america cause all you need is a ball, bat, and glove...

Soccer is cheap?
This guy here was bought for over 90.000.000 Euros.

yeah, true football players are the most expensive athletes in the world. And Basketball is the second most popular sport in the world, so not sure what you are talking about there either.

It seems golf is pretty popular, and it is the MOST expensive sport in the world, so the logic here holds no water.

So is the US Soccer team actually really good now? OR was this just luck?

I think we are ranked #14 in the world, probably a little higher after this tournament. It was definitely luck getting through the first group since we played horribly the first 2 games, but the 3-0 win against Egypt and the 2-0 win over Spain definitely weren't luck, they played great.

I have a feeling they will be pretty tired for the game against Brazil Sunday, but they do get one more days rest than Brazil so we'll see. If we play like we did against Spain, and Brazil plays like they did today against South Africa, we'll win.

yes yes, cause it costs 90 million euros for every one in the world to play soccer...

no it's cheap cause it costs $20-50 max for a ball...most really poor countries kids don't even wear shoes...i am not saying soccer players don't get paid well...but it is cheap for anyone to go play...i play all the time all it costed me was 50 bucks for a pair of cheap cleats...

I spend over 600 dollars a week on hockey...most people in the world cannot afford that...that's why hockey will never become a main sport in the world...it's too expensive...

ps...that picture reinforced most americans thought that soccer is for fags...

hockey will never be a major sport around the world because it's not meant to be played in warm climates, so that rules out over 50% of the world right there. I have to think that most true hockey fans still think it's odd that places like Carolina, Florida and Atlanta have NHL teams, yet Winnipeg and Quebec do not.

If Mexico actually had a real winter, they'd have a national hockey team.

Texas and Florida are two best states in the US for roller hockey...Followed by California and Arizona...

Ice Hockey is not huge in warm climate places simply because it costs too much...think how much it would cost to keep a rink frozen all day when it's 100 degrees outside?..up here in New Jersey if you buy "Bulk" ice is costs around $480 an hour...so think how much more expensive it would be if it is usually 20-50 degrees warmer than new jersey...then once you pay for the ice, ice hockey requires twice as much equipment, that's even more money...

well done to the yanks today, they should be proud, could be a real force in a few years.

to anyone who didn't watch, they went 2-0 up on brazil in the final but brazil fought back to win 3-2
