unmanaged vps tutorials

I've just bought an unmanaged Linux vps to mess around with.

Does anyone have any good tutorials, how-to's or guides on setting up dns, email [pop3 and smtp].

I'm fine with lamp, but no clue where email is concerned!

Try "Pro Linux System Administration" by James Turnbull et al. Yea, most of the stuff is available on the Internet, but this book does a good job of covering the important stuff, gotchas, and focuses on business applications like web, email, dns, etc.

Excellent, thanks for the recommendation. Books like that are always good to have, but finding a good one isn't always easy...

Sometimes I think there's too much bloody information on the Internet... it's hard to know whether a tutorial or guide is up to date or incorrect .

You should be able to get a tutorial from your hosting company which will be easier to follow

I went with an Ubuntu Hardy server, purely because that's what I use for my desktop, so I feel comfortable with it.
