I'm curious what other Canadian W-effers are doing right now as far as converting to CAD?

The rate's been great the past 4 months, upwards of $1.25-$1.30 CAD for every $1 USD converted.

However it's been steadily dropping the last couple of weeks, down to $1.15 now.

Anyone have any predictions for the short term?

I feel like it's going to go back up to $1.25 - $1.30 really soon, and that this drop is temporary - but that's just me speculating without taking any economic factors into consideration.

Anyone have any insight?

I'm holding out right now because if I cash out at $1.15 I'm taking a loss of thousands of Canadian dollars.

Please, no monopoly money jokes =)

I watch the CAD-USD exchange rates every day,and I have the exact same concerns as you darb. I'm waiting for our dollar to drop (or USD to go back up) before I do a big exchange, and over the past couple weeks the CAD has slowly climbed up to the ridiculous amount of $1.15.

I'm not sure what to do, but a little over a year ago our dollar was at par so I'd hate to see that happen again soon. If so, we'd be looking at this thread going "fuck I wish I would have cashed out at a buck 15". Let's hope that won't be the case.

I'm from Canada with bank accounts in Canadian dollars, living in Spain on Euros, for the longest time collecting a salary in Pounds, and earning affiliate monies in US dollars. When I first came here everything was coming up roses but after the first year I got screwed every way you can imagine on currency exchange. A serious shit show for sure.

Haha yeah I completely agree man.

I always cash about about 20% of my USD when I see it start to sink just in case it goes really low like it did last year when it was at par, that way I can have some cash to float me until it goes back up to a better level.
