Use April Fools Day to Cash In...

I normally wouldn't give out a money maker, but I came up with this earlier today and it's raking in the cash, plus it won't work past tomorrow... However, you do need a good blog, entertainment site, etc. for this to work.

Basically, I talked one of the girls on my network into letting me take down her site for a day (I'm splitting the cash with her). She runs www.ihatecutewithchris.com and gets around 4,000 uniques a day. Most of her visitors hate her... so, I threw up a fake hacked page (cliché I know) and had the "hacker" direct people to take his survey as a way to show appreciation for his hack...

Almost 100% click through rate, lol... I'm rotating offers throughout the night to see which ones work best. Since throwing up the fake page, I've seen a HUGE spike in traffic.

Anyway, this won't work for everyone, but I'm sure you can think of other ways to implement it.

Stop stealing peoples ideas and pretending they were your own. John Chow already did this on his site, he made a blog post saying he had been hacked today for Aprils Fools day and he has a very clever way of promotion on it instead. Much better than how you did it.

I wouldn't say it was stealing. Tons of sites pull Aprils Fools Day pranks, and I'm sure more than a few people have turned it to their monetary advantage in the past.

What is up with ihatecutewithchris dot com? I have been looking over it now for 15 minutes and all I see is a bunch of people harassing the blogger and making threats. Tons of mentions of cults too.
