What is everyone using their old ipads and android tablet for? I'm looking for ideas on what I can use this old tech for instead of just selling it on eBay. I was thinking about possibly mounting an iPad on the wall and use it as a dedicated controller for our entertainment system or something.

Have two old tabs re-purposed. One as a htpc/cable box/music/lighting control remote and it sits right in the middle of the coffee table. Light years better experience over the separate dildo remotes we've been using for decades.

I'm away often and have a high traffic house, so the second one is a motion detecting ip cam/security cam and sits right behind the desk on the bookshelf in my home office displaying the time innocuously.

you can install kali and use it for "Pen Testing". Before you know it you will be the latest script kiddie on the block.

Most people will want to crack wifi using Kali. This is pointless if you don't have a Wifi card / adapter that does not support packet injection.

I have them mounted in most of my rooms. They control the music, lights, climate, security, ect ect

Why the fuck would you mount your entertainment system/ controller to your wall? Do you still get up to change the TV channel too?

I do what slowboiled says, HTPC controls on the iPad that sits on the coffee table and is used while sitting on the couch. It's the current tablet, not some old junk. Old shit gets recycled or given away. I used to horde old computer components and electronics, but that shit never gets used. It's just clutter that collects dust and takes up space. It all goes down to the bins now. I leave by the bins and someone always carts it away.

They are mounted into docks. I can carry them anywhere around the room. I can control other zones as well so if I feel like carrying something around I can. I don't mind getting up to open the blinds and turn on the heat though lol

How cold is it? Do you keep it offline and just transfer via sd card?

For your cold storage signing needs. :)

Give it about a week though -- still need to finalize it, add some additional validation, and get the binaries for multiple OSs up there. Later there will be a little CMS / personal online wallet software available and open-sourced, to help take deposits via bitcoin, and provide secure offline signing capability.

That looks pretty sweet. Did you write that?

Yep, that's me. Not very good looking, but it works! Will add some new icons and shit, and multisig support later on. Wait about a week for the next commit, but it will be finalized very shortly, with binaries available.

EDIT: Don't worry, it's solid. I'll even be using it for my own funds.
