I've been doing AM since March of this year. Been doing just fine using only Google / Facebook. I have not done any image ads up until now. I know Yahoo converts but I hate paying for almost pure arbi traffic + their new premiums.

When hunting for a new campaign, I'll often look at the stock banners to help think of a landing page design. Never once did I think to try using these banners. I guess because I know how hard it can be to get a good CTR, banner blindness seems like it would be an issue.

Have any of you had success simply running the stock banners on say Google Image + content network? Sounds too easy :rasta: And yes I'll try it, but it takes a while to get approved (so I hear...)

I have done some testing and so far - all the banners I designed myself have done better than the stock banners provided by the advertiser/network. Those banners look way too generic anyway. I know I wouldn't click them.

Pull up Photoshop or your favourite graphics tool and get creative (yeah, pun intended) ;)

Thanks. Yep I always found stock banners to follow the same boring routine, promoting blindness. But some custom banners really stand out. And some are just plain annoying .. cough LowerMyBills.com .. cough

hah lets see some examples of crazy banners that combat banner blindness

Dude just check out cnn or weather.com. Weather.com is especially rediculous. All those dancing annoying chicks, santa clauses and aliens. Ugh.
