you should split test but sometimes blog style landing page convert much higher than a WP blog disguised in an early 2000's LP

Wordpress is a great way to build landing pages; very easy, good SEO value.

With most themes, it is of course ideal for blog/flog type pages, though with some themes (e.g. AffiliateTheme, WFReview, NewsTheme) it can be used for other styles of pages (review landers with WFReview, farticles with NewsTheme, and just about anything with AffiliateTheme.)

I convert all my Wordpress landing pages to just HTML/CSS.

Edit: You don't need PHP/MYSQL to generate the page. It will just bog down your server.
