Vbulletin 4 or WP & Vbulletin mashup

I am looking to start a new news/community site and would normally use WP as the base. I have been looking at the new vbulletin 4 CMS and it looks like it could be a nice little platform.

My main concern is its still an early product and could be like a early version of WP. Whats your thoughts

I had this very same dilemma, I opted to buy vb 4 and test it out whenever they end up releasing gold. In the meantime I just bridged VB 3.8 and wordpress. If 4.0 is solid I'll just take the time and move everything over to that, if not... I continue with the two mashed together.

I'm wondering what improvements to the skinning/templating vB4 brings. vBulletin 3 was pretty easy to modify before, but some things were just annoying (like having to manually edit the menu bar HTML to re-add custom options every fucking time they made a change to it.)
