I've read some reviews of Windows Vista and I don't see any reason to upgrade from XP unless I want my computer to be slower.

Am I missing something? Does it have any sweet stuff for webmasters at all?

Nope...... and it will be anal retentive when it comes to Media (with it's gay DRM) stick with XP Pro as long as you can.

I herd it uses 1800% of the system resources that XP does... fuck that. It "looks cool"... and I wanted it until I herd how resource intensive it is. No thanks.

Meh I'll probably try it... My harddrives about to crash anyways so why not see what's new and improved...

Stupid harddrive has so many bad sectors... WTF does some company put a POS toshiba harddrive in there... Fuck you toshiba.. you suck (i've only had the drive for like 2 months)..

And i know it's under warranty but i'd rather pay money then get another free POS... Ok end rant, back on track :D

Its mildly worth it if you want to set up a computer for someone who always gets loads of spyware on their machine. At least for 3 months or so until the spyware guys adjust.

You shouldn't get it because everyone will ask you because people don't understand what you do for a living but they understand its with computers. So if you don't get it for the next 2 years you can always say... Ah... I know nothing about that new fangle technology i'm thinking about downgrading to windows 98. All the questions will stop and you can go back to thinking about ways to take over the world again.

I like it. I use it since early November through my MSDN subscription. With the right hardware it runs really fast, but you should do a clean installation and not an upgrade.

The nice thing being cutting edge - I documented a lot things in my blog early on and are now good positioned in search engines and get a lot of traffic for Vista related searches and Office 2007 related searches.

Would XP do the job? Sure, it would but I prefer the additional features in Vista, too.

Chris

Don't worry, It'll be supported for years, at least until the next version of Windows after Vista is out.

i just got it today... i'm still trying to get used to it so i cant comment on it too much. it seems a little too colorful for me though.
