Want to learn how to maximize $/per customer?

I was ready to spend 3 years smashing Diablo3, but luckily enough they fucking ruined it. A lot of users are butthurt over that. Their AH is pure rapeage and costs more if you are really playing then a $15 sub. Problem is no one plays that shit game. Blizz will be contracting in the next few years.

There's good and bad from the f2p model.

F2p gets players into the game and having a hopping population improves game experience for the paying users in MMO's. Player interaction is much of the content.

Microtransactions are simply more profitable than paid apps. People are comfortable paying small amounts which add up over time for the extras because many consider the length of entertainment value relative to say going to a movie. It's $5-$20 for something they'll spend 40+ hours with this week compared to other forms of entertainment.

It's a lot like arcades used to be.

Also mmo's are expensive to host when you have to cover the globe with low latency, so ongoing subscriptions are reasonable for those types of games.

Only MMO's I've played were UO and darkfall online. No time for them anymore.

WoW is a game that has definitely stood the test of time. As of late, they are bleeding subscriptions, but their online store makes ends meet. Plus, they are due to announce the next xpac at Blizzcon this fall. Which will bring old players back for another round of the same ole shit.

Love them or hate them, no other MMO in the western world comes close and they are pros at milking their users.

That being said, anyone for rated BGs next season lol? PM me for battletag.
