Hey all, I remembered that I own a weapon related (rifle-esque) domain that gets tons of type in traffic (gotta love those hicks.)

Anyway, it's been sitting forgotten for a few years and I'd like to set something up and monetize.

You guys have any ideas as to what i can and should promote with a gun domain? it's not a trademark.

thanks

There's plenty of survival-related websites that have their own inhouse affiliate programs.
Some keywords to get you started: survival seeds, home canning, junk silver.
Gold investing, education offers related to law enforcement / criminal justice and building a list and nail the shit out of it as 2012 approaches with some survival related kit / content all immediately come to mind.

Also I'd take a look at the demos in Quantcast and work backwards.

could do product referral for an outdoorsman or sportsman site, I know some people talk shit about CJ but they're good for CPS

Custom holsters. They sell for $$$.

PM me your site link. I've been into weapons as a hobby over the past few years. I own an original (issued in Belgium in 1944) M1 Garand. I've also built an AK-74 from a parts kit and two FN-FAL's (all semi-auto).

GunBroker has an affiliate program which a lot of your visitors probably use or would use. I would also go with the survival gear and affiliate programs of bass pro shops, cabellas, etc. That niche is actually a huge money niche especially right now.

Why not throw up an optin page.... and build a list for a forum? Then you can push whatever gun offers and get some of that user generated content.
