i'm tired of looking for somebody to help me design a professional looking site for my business. can anybody recommend talent?

i hate all the responses i'm getting from people that can't even design or code correctly. this sucks man..

are there any sites besides rentacoder and the usully freelancer sites that help find great designers and coders easily???

there has got to be a better way to bring designers, coders, and buyers together..

this is driving me nuts!
 


This post won't help you. I will say though, I was in the same boat as you 5 years ago. I went ahead and said FUCK THIS!!!!!!! and starting learning for myself. I'm glad now, the more sites you make, the faster you get. Pretty soon, you'll be able to make your own new templates quickly.
 
Yeah, if you are in IT, just learn it yourself. It will save money and headaches dealing with people and getting it the way you want. Otherwise, try forums like DP, SP, and someother ones there are many young webdesigners that will probably do it for free as a way to build their porfolio.

Depends on the complexity of what you want I've been a web developer for about 6 years, not the best designer in the world but I can code tons of shit, if you need something quiet complex like a full ecommerce website then your going to be looking for a long time but if you are just looking for some landing pages or something like that then its as easy as taking a template and tweaking the code.

i'm going to try elance.com.. that site gives portfolio examples. i can handle landing pages and etc myself.. i'm looking for a new website for my full-time job. it requires custom design and detailed database work.

You'll want to try guru.com as well. Take bids from both and take the best person you can find for as cheap as possible. I got my PHP development team from elance myself for a serious php+mysql database system.

Be sure to find someone that codes for exploit attempts.

You should have been more specific. If you had said PHP/MySQL, I would have sent you elance and guru right away. :)
 
Have you thought of using a website builder to do this, I use Mr Site, and found it may be really good, it takes care of your hosting, domain name registration and renewals and provides an easy to use tool to build a site.

Give em a try
 
You haven't met fellow Pakistan / Indian PHP coders. They put out better quality PHP/MySQL code for a third of the price.
