so hey guys there are a few APs in my area HOWEVER i cannot get a good signal with them, speeds like <10 KB and disconnects.

I bought this edimax usb wifi adapter on ebay that is supposed to be high power and came with an antenna but it is worse than my integrated on a laptop, wtf is up with that? i get 1 or 2 bars showing up with my own ap and nothing else. i also have a 802.11 on my pc so i can use that but need more RECEPTION.

what does shooting the shit recommend for a good wifi antenna?

Sounds like a defective card to me. I've personally been using an orinoco gold for years and it still has awesome range. Back when I used to crack my neighbors WEP I was just using the built-in atheros card in my laptop.

Man, you compare losing leads to getting raped in your sig! This is WF, sure it's insensitive but it's funny in a fucked up way.

Would you guys be getting so defensive if it was making light of Hiroshima? Or maybe something that kills shit loads more Americans than 9/11... cancer? car crashes?

But yeah, pay for ya internet man. Stealing bandwidth from other people isn't nice.
 
Well, if we were frequenting what was generally a Japanese forum, and had a sig like "Made in the USA, Tested in Japan™" with a picture of the Little Boy atom bomb, then I would say they'd have a right to be pissed.

I'm not even American and I still find that sig pretty distasteful.
 
+1 for orinoco. While I've never used them I've only heard good stuff about them. Personally, I've used the senao 200mW(prism 2.5 chipset) which has dual antenna jack combined with a homemade cantenna. With those 2 together I've never worried about a low signal when cracking wep.
