What are we allowed to ask our affiliate managers?

As a new affiliate, I'm still not entirely sure how much info our managers know and what they're willing to divulge. Do you guys have any insight on this?

I really want to ask my manager stuff like which countries in a niche convert better, what the best traffic sources are for an offer, etc. I know I could just ask my manager directly... but I have a feeling he might be full of shit so I wanted to run it by you guys first :)

These are OK questions and pretty standard IMO.

If they start handing over landing pages or ad copy just know that they'll probably do the same to you, so beware.

You can easily ask the questions you mention and the reliability of the answers you get is based on how knowledgeable your AM is.

You'll start getting better answers the more volume you run with the network.

Thanks for the help guys.

Follow up question: if I feel like I have a bad manager, who do I go to if I want to get a new one? Is it common practice or even possible to switch managers?

What you ask your affiliate manager purely depends on your relationship with him/her. The closer and better your relationship, the juicier the questions you can ask.
I have an aff. mgr. that's now a real close buddy of mine, to an extent that I can even point him to certain competitors and he'll tell me (off the record of course and over the phone) how well they convert.
