Why is it everytime somebody makes a blog or forum post about PPC, they always use widgets as the sample product?

Blue widgets, Red widgets, Big widgets etc.

I have no idea what widgets are other than those little ajax widgets you put on your site to make it slower :P

I propose next time somebody gives an example, please use Midgets instead. "I want to buy a Blue Midget" and "Buy Midgets in Arizona" actually makes more sense to me :)

This is a widget:

Widget (linguistics), a placeholder name for an object or, more specifically, a mechanical or other manufactured device.

From what I understand they can get you pretty fucked up if you chop 'em up and snort them.

By the way AJAX is a client side script which means it runs on your computer and not the server, it doesn't make any calls to the server unless it has to, which means it speeds up your website, not slow it down.

As for what a widget is well scottspfd82 link didn't work but this one should "GUI Widgets"

ajax tends to appear slow because of the initial download required, often these frameworks are 50kb+. Also if they use alot of events (onload, etc) it really can slow the system down.

Widget is the best product ever, the reason ppl use widget is cause when i last checked Copeac had a $2.00 CPA per widget, i'm making a killin off of widgets.

Midgets on the other hand tend to fetch more in the $35 to $45 CPA range as there are less searches.

These are Yahoo's numbers for March

The midget market is mainly focused on porn as you can see, that's why i recommend staying with widgets....... but it's up 2 u!

I've seen lots of mistakes done with Ajax to slow down the system, yes its true some people are not very smart and don't take the time to understand something before they put it online but if done correctly its a powerful and fast way to interact with your users, not to mention cut down on the amount of server calls you'd have to do otherwise.
