I have something similar. If I get an itch on my neck or face and scratch it inevitably someone asks what happened. I can take a fingernail and run it down my arm and in about a minute there will be a bright red raised line like a welt. It's not quite as bad as the writing example on the wiki page, but pretty close.
 
There is a few ways to do allergy tests. Test your blood and see what antibodies it has in it. Antibodies mean that you have been presented with something and your body is over responding.

The other way is to make a checkerboard pattern on the back of your arm and pricking you a bit with a bunch of different substances in each square. The ones that freak out are the culprits.

I did the blood one and am allergic to a lot of things. But mildly. I usually ignore it.

Have some shellfish 6 - 12 hours before? Octopus? Some other fish?

Very common.

With yours being all over your body it sounds like something you had a lot of contact with like eating. Not just touching it a bit with a hand.

Travel through an industrial area with any solvents?
 
I have evolved...allergic to nothing.... except the sun.

Soooo...ever have chicken pox?...i'm sure the doc would have said if it was that...but i had somethin simliar to chicken pox, but no symptons other then a rash that went away after couple of days... sorry i forget the name.... mb it was this Pityriasis Rosea
 
Cheap metal touching my skin. I'll get a huge itchy rash that will puff up and last for about a week.

I can only have stainless steal, platinum, or gold jewely. Anything cheap (like a cheap belt buckle touching my skin) will give me a huge rash.
 
Lobster.. I ate it until about 5 years ago when I suddenly became allergic. The first two times it had any effect, I just got an itchy mouth. The third time I swelled up like a balloon and got hives. Next time I will probably die!
 
@turbolapp - no fever or chills. I really don't feel well at all in general though, but that's understandable I guess consdering the circumstances haha.

@drake - nope, no fish. I love seafood though, so if I was allergic to that I would be really upset.

@uzz - yep, had chicken pox as a kid. Even called my mom to confirm.

I guess I'll have to wait until Monday to find out what's causing this. :(

you mean devolved -- being allergic to the sun is like being allergic to water...

About 3 months ago I awoke in the middle of the night, itching like mad. Turned on the lights, had red bumps all over, total breakout of hives. Took benadryl and after 2-3 hours fell back to sleep. Wondered what the hell all the next day.

Next night, same exact thing. Woke up 2am, same scenario.

That morning, as I got up, I looked in the corner of the bedroom ceiling, right above where I sleep, and there was a friggin HUGE spider just hanging out in the corner... after I disposed of the spider, never had the issue again.

So it appears this fucker was hiding out and both times, just bit me while I was asleep. How's that for "What the fuck!"
