What books are you currently reading?

lol, I use my copy of this book to plug the hole in the window where my ac unit is. What a pile of shit.

I did a speech on his second book The Eighth Habit. It's basically a regurgitation of the first and continues to drone on and one repeating itself all the time.

I signed up to his site for the book, it's a total scam.

I've been reading:

The World is Flat (It's very insightful and good to read a few times, you'll keep finding stuff) - Thomas Friedman
Digital Fortress - Dan Brown

Kick ass book - can really be life changing. I am semi retiring off the pacific coast of [x] in about 4 days and 12 + hours to chillout and work on publishing my first book and Claude Bristol played a role.

If you're watching from the Heavens, Thanks Mr. Bristol!!!

On a different note, I LOVE LOVE LOVE WWII History so I just splurged on this
Nazis: A Warning From History | TimeLife.com | An in-depth examination of Hitler's reign, and the rise and fall of the Third Reich.

which I plan to watch while I lounge in the sun and waste time on forums without any guilt...

you can do it too if you truly apply what this guy talks about.

Yeah i reckon its a great book, its just getting the techniques firmly imprinted on your brain and attempting them everyday. Its really easy to forget and carry on how you were before.

also another one i forgot to add --

As a man Thinketh and other Writings - James Allen

Damn.. I am actually going to buy books over lunch, as I have run out of them.

Just finished:
- Wikinomics
- Horns
- Terminal World
- WWW:Watch

Argh... need reading material, NOW!

::emp::

If this ethos really strikes a note for you, check out The Master Key System by Charles Haanel & The Dore & Edinburgh Lectures on Mental Science by Judge Thomas Troward - pretty intense :rasta:

Here's a habit for you, stop reading garbage. Want a real book on business? Try Noble House, or start with Shogun and work your way down the line.

I agree. The 7 Habits book was one of the worst I've ever read. I should have thought twice about buying a book written by a "professor"

It's the cheesy amazon plugin on the forums. It makes you NOT want to post Amazon because it will come out fucked up.

After it was installed, I think linking to Amazon dropped off by several orders of magnitude.

James Clavell is prob my favorite author and those books are masterpieces. Though business lessons from those books are learned through example or inference since its a historical fiction, but this level reading does make your brain bigger. Other fav authors of the same caliber

Bernard Cohen (Winter King series, never got into the Sharpe series)
Patrick O'Brian
Mario Puzo (aside from the Godfather which was great, The Family was awesome)

Anyone got any authors to recommend among this line?

Reading this now for bizness..

books

I didn't recall the 7 highly habits been so shitty.

Anywho, just finished up Rework and 4HWW

and Scott Pilgrim 1-5. It's an awesome graphic novel. About this 23 year old slacker who lives with his gay roommate in Canada and plays with his band the sex bob-ombs. It's like QC: New Comics Every Monday Through Friday but a bit more zany
