I just got back from Mackinac Island in the UP of Michigan.
There are no cars there - the only exception is the local ambulance. Everything is horse and buggy or bicycle. My family did the circuit around the island on bike (8.x miles) which is a relatively short ride.
Also, the internet service was terrible - so, for about 4 days all we did was talk to each other, walk everywhere, and actually experience stuff.
I also enjoy camping, etc - so, when you need to escape - get AWAY - like literally - to somewhere where work stuff can't be accessed. There are a few places like this.
