What do you do when you get depressed?

Kinda sounds like existential angst. Try reading "Nothing Special" by Joko Beck. (I'm re-reading it the second time, it's THAT good) Reading it won't immediately solve your problem but it will point you to the right direction.

Just looked it up... I don't think I have it, but not sure as I've been thinking about some of these things lately. Thanks for the suggestion...

What always works for me is exercising religiously (lifting heavy weights, doing tons of cardio, etc)
Oh and waking up early for some reason makes me feel better than waking up later in the day, even though I sleep the same amount of time.

Think about boobs, try to be asleep as long as possible, watch an episode of MST3K, alchohol

Think about boobs quite a bit, especially while on wf.

Sleep - not sure. I can sleep 14 hours a day with no problem, usually wake up after 7-8 and then may go back. If I do go back for another 4-7 hours I wake up feeling like shit. However, I feel that I get the same sleep if I sleep 12am-10am as I do 6am-11am or so... So as of today starting to stay up till 6-7am...

Movies, shows - watched a ton within the last month. Feel like its a waste of time for the most part.

Alcohol - think it may actually do more damage. However, sitting, drinking some beer right now, it does help to relax. :-/

Exercise, play a computer game i really enjoy, go out and do stuff in the garden (getting my hands dirty always makes me feel better, but YMMV)

Also - playing with my kid. Impossible to feel down when cute small person is bouncing up and down on you grinning.

How is your social life? Sounds like all these fixes you're attempting involve doing things alone. Maybe you need to have a few laughs with some friends.

Well, mate, try focusing on other "stuff". That may sound hard, but forget everything and leave that to one side. Go watch some porn, chill out, and relax. Listen to music, sleep?

In my own experience, I believe having a bash and then chilling out on your bed listening to some music helps, don't know about you.

Here, enjoy this picture,

Hope ya get better, and just chill out about it, stay relaxed :)

i make it a point to go outside every single day. I know its easy to just spend a few days in the house grinding. I drive to this gas station about 20 minutes away and back every day, it helps.

Actually vitamin D deficiency is more common than people think - and most progressive doctors are upgrading the RDA for people who do not spend a lot of time out doors. Going outside for a few hours, or taking a supplement may work wonders. One effect of a lack of vitamin D can be depression - and no, you do not get enough in a glass of vitamin D milk.

Just close your eyes...and the think there are lots of people in the world who have more problem than yours...

So walk the way of you life...There is no one for you...just walk...

Go outside, go and watch a movie, play a game etc. Doing something you enjoy that has the ability to take your mind off things.

go for a walk/run
if you are single...try and meet a girl that is hotter then you think you can get

Do some online educational courses. Think of something you would like to learn and enroll in a course. Once you have begun the course and start receiving good results you will feel great because you are achieving something very productive, new qualifications.
You can never learn too much. I am half way through a course and receiving great results and feedback from the teachers so I am looking forward to the next course.
It is challenging but very rewarding.

If you exercise with weights that are heavy, 3 times per week for 30 minutes is more than enough. Any more that that is generally over-training.

  • Working out
  • Working on work that needs to be done
  • Reflecting on the fact that most trivial shit doesn't really matter down the road because I'm going to die and there is no God or afterlife, most everything is relative to my own situation, etc. etc.

All of this cheers me up
