What Health Insurance Do You Have?

BC/BS PPO. Pretty sure it's the most comprehensive plan they have. I learned my lesson the hard way in my early 20s that the last place you want to be is under-insured.

I pay about $100 a month for united health care golden rule. The deductible is $2500 I think. I would like to get a HSA to pay for dentist and eye doctor visits, but I'm not sure which company is the best.

It's going to depend on how many are going to be on the policy and how old and how healthy they all are

good point. just me for now. in my 20s, healthy.

Eventually there will be four of us on the plan.

Just found a $141/mo plan from Aetna using e-surance. Sound like a good rate for an individual?
Plan: PPO
Deductible:$0
Coinsurance 30%
Office Visit: $30

Yeah, going full-time AM in about a month and don't want to be without insurance, def seen others get screwed

I'm about to switch to switch to a new Aetna plan, but I've really liked them so far. They've always reimbursed me right on time and they've got pretty solid reviews.

The kicker is passing their physical. From what I've seen, insurers who aren't working with a large group will completely check you out for pre-existing conditions and so on. If you don't pass the tests, you don't get a preferred rate. You get the "You're fat and sick" rate, which is not a very good rate at all.

That's why it's nice to have a day job with medical benefits.

Been doing IM for about a year now and haven't gotten around to getting health insurance.

I've been doing AM since 2000. I have Blue Shield. I've moved to Asia and Blue Shield still covers me (through reimbursements). I pay over $500 monthly. Part of that is due to my age. I'm over 40 years old.

Did you just notify them prior to moving to Asia? Is this a special plan or one of the regular ones? I have Blue Shield, am 40 and am paying $106 for $5000 deductible HSA plan. I'd like to move out for a bit and if Blue Shield will cover out of country that will be awesome.

Thanks.
