BBC News - British Airways seeks compensation for ash chaos

I mean for fucks sake. Your company is shit. You are going bust. You obviously are outdated and don't have any idea about how to make your business efficient.

And now, let's get the british and EU taxpayers to pay for a fucking natural catastrophe so the business can stay afloat.

Maybe you should have bought some sort of fucking insurance! Or perhaps organised your business better so you have cash reserves!

For fucks sake. What is it with these big companies demanding money from the government. So sick of it.

I mean yeah, it's the government's fault the airspace is closed. if it wasn't for the government all the planes would be flying wouldn't they!

BA took care of me when only parts of europe was closed down. Can't say anything bad about them...

All I can say is how screwed is the economy without plans to transport goods and people... claims on the radio today were made saying airlines are loosing 1.7 mil per hour and some estimate costs to be about 200 mil each since this all started...

they are worried about letting planes fly as they tend to drop from the sky when in contact with volcanic ash...

Haha lets make fun of the british people cause their government gives all their money to big companies.

er wait a second

What BA did for you was standard procedure. AF / KLM will take even better care of you man if the flight you booked with them is fucked - talking from first hand experience on my way to Cairo from Amsterdam.

LOL, I know guys stuck in Madrid because the flight to Hong Kong went through London on BA. They eventually got out.

On a side note - BA is the worst. Heathrow Airport is the worst.

If I was flying back to the states, I would pay extra to fly Lufthansa, then fly to Frankfurt, and then back past Spain to the US. God damn, I HATE BA.

(Plus - Who can say no to German Sausage and Pretzels for breakfast... seriously?)

^2nd on Heathrow airport = fucked. I usually fly in but never out of Heathrow. Airport taxes are ridiculous at HR also.

With economic integration, once they bail out one airline, there will be pressure in other countries to bail out other airlines.

People talk about shades of gray but I only ever see slippery slopes.

ya they are offering to fly me back through singapore to ZRH. my flight with BA on wed hasn't been cancelled so we'll see if I have to take them up on that offer. Singapore airlines rule but the travel time is twice as long..
