Hey,

Got $125 in free coupons ($100 from the visa app deal) so I thought I'd test out some offers. I ignored the guidelines like everyone does and direct-linked to a diet product. That was denied in about 3 hours. So I read through the rules and posted three new ads that I thought might work on FB: credit reports, some mobile quiz thing, and gamefly. About two hours later my entire account was disabled.

What the fuck?

What the hell is allowed here?

Thanks..

Be clever - I have noticed that if you submit multiple ads with different gradations of "decline" written on them, normally one will get through.

Just look at what you see up - Dating, free laptop things, etc... just make sure you clearly state the offer/company/brand or whatever - that's what I usually have problems with

Why would my account be disabled from the visa app deal?

(I was referring to the free $100 credit you get from installing the visa FB app)

Well it said my account was disabled before my second shot at creating an ad. Maybe cause I have a separate personal account on there..they suck

If you had a separate account, then your new account got suspended because you used coupons on it. You can't use coupons on another account, if you already advertised with Facebook before.

I know what you were referring to and that is why you got banned.

You just answered your own question after disagreeing with me.

The other account was for personal reasons. I've never advertised with it before. I guess I'll just use that one then.

I ignored the guidelines like everyone does

Thats your first problem.

Facebook is trying to keep a clean image and it appears like they don't like money so if you try and get banned shit through and are careless by not reading the guidelines they'll ban you.

If they find out you've got multiple accounts, they'll ban you.

They'll ban you for a lot of reasons all to keep there site clean, so in order to stay on top of the game to make some cash (And yes there is money to be made) you've got to be extremely careful or go the easy route and obey the rules a little more then you normally would.

I didn't think the other account would have matter because I never used it to advertise.

Do they have a support # to call?

haha not unless you have a rep or have talked to one in the past.

Try to send a PM to a member here called facebook, his name is Keith (He does work for facebook) and he might be able to help you out.

yea, your account was probably disabled because of visa app...but to answer your question many offers (besides cell phone submits and diet offers) are ok on FB. you just need to make sure you are following their guidelines. and yes, they are overly strict. it also helps when your account gets some history, they tend to be more lenient

You know I've noticed something.
Half the people here that use Facebook to advertise go for the same tired old cashchow shit, without bothering to do some research into what Facebook admin or users actually respond to... It's old news that Facebook don't allow diet, gambling, adult, download or mobile stuff, unless you happen to cloak it cleverly enough or modify where it goes to after it's approved *coughcough*

HOWEVER, all the social networks allow you to micro target your audience to an amazing degree! And you know what? If you really know your audience, you cna get some great conversions on stuff that's a little bit out there.
From a single nerd specific keyword (as in that's the ONLY keyword in the whole campaign set of 6 ads), I'm pulling about ~$100 a week from a $35 spend.
I'm about to start asking my missus' dad, who's a massive jock, for some good keywords for his interests in cycling (as it turns out, he spent $2,500 on a bike frame, and there are 12% commissions on a few cycling stores in CJ)

So know your audience, target micro-specific interests, and you'll actually be able to make a multitude of smaller, but easily approved revenue streams.

Thats because people are lazy haha but hey thats good news for most of us who take the 5 minutes to understand what works and what doesn't.

At first I was kinda pissed about all the crap Facebook does to limit the advertisers but now I'm actually kinda happy they do all that bullshit just for the simple fact that it cuts down on the competition and leaves more room for me to rake in the money.
