What to buy if "youname.com" is taken?



At that point none our ideal so it probably doesn't matter what you get. I would just wait because I doubt he's gonna keep renewing the domain forever, no one will give him more than $10 for it.
 
Shit, honestly there's no point in getting yourname.com unless you're trying to brand yourself in which case any domain name can be successful as long as you market it right. Personally I would be really irritated if I had a brand and I didn't have the .com. So my advice is to buy a brandable domain for $10 bucks and go that route.
 
I know what you mean but now days a name isn't as important as it used to because you can create a brand name that makes no sense and it can still be just as successful as any other brand.
 
I agree that I would try to change the domain name before resorting to .net, .org, .info, etc. I've never been a fan of hyphens either. It sucks that your name is taken, but what can you do? Short of $15k, of course ;)
 
lul... Looks like he's got you in a 'checkmate' position. sadly, this is how some people make $. IMO I'd re-brand a .com and start from there. If not, sell your shit using your .net and when u get the $$ lowball him 10k for your .com.
 
Try uname1.com, or theyouname.com just try to get close.

The "best website evar thread showed me it is not in the .com, it is in the marketing and the site itself to a big extent.... porn.md didn't need a .com to be huge.....
 
well why dont you then add hq at the end so its mynamehq.com

for head quaters , if not then go .net or dot org
