I've been reading this forum for about a year now and have had some success over the last year. Lately it seems that I can't do anything right. For all of my profitable campaigns the traffic dried up or the offers were pulled. My ROI for December was -$2000 and I lost a good bit of money testing campaigns and landing pages this month.

Things were going good. I was thinking about quitting my job in November. At least I didn't do that.

WTF do you do when it seems like nothing is going right? I test campaigns and they never show any promise. I do mostly PPC and was working on doing some media buys, but now I don't have the funds or a campaign that I know will convert. I mean fuck I can't even get an acai lead lately.

Smoke a bowl.

In all seriousness, pick myself up, learn from my mistakes and try again. We all fail at some times in our life, the winners realize why we failed and use it as a learning experience.

Figure out what went wrong and either fix it or do something diffrent. If something is no loner profitable don't keep throwing money at it hoping it will get better. Sometimes the best thing you can do is move on.

Make sure that you aren't spending thousands of dollars on campaigns that aren't converting for you...

You gotta test them out first man. Spend $100, if it doesn't make any money, chances are it won't make money if you drop $1000 into it.

You need to count the clicks you put into the campaigns, not the dollar worth. Competitive keywords in the loan niche will cost you $3 a click or more. Well with only $100; that is 33 clicks, no where near enough to figure out if the campaign will be profitable or not. Any campaign requires 200-300 clicks before any radical decisions can be made.

i had the same thing happen to me in november. with all the acai caps and a few offers going down it really wiped me out. in the end i burned out and just said "fuck it i've had enough".

i jumped on a boat and headed to another island for a few days. even as i was on the boat the ideas started coming. two days later i was back early, a full notepad of ideas in hand and back in front of the pc. fast forward 6 weeks and i've made more in the last 2 weeks than i did in september and october combined and its still building.

moral 1: sometimes its just difficult to see the wood for the trees. step away mate, turn everything off and disappear to somewhere nice for a few days, it'll bring everything back into perspective.

moral 2: expect there to be low periods even wipeouts. its a rollercoaster business and sometimes its gonna go pear shaped on you. next time you'll be better prepared!

moral 3: if you've made money before you'll make it again and bigger.

just remember you never really lose the ability to earn once you've learned how and had success before. its the same reason people like trump and branson can take such big risks in business. so what if they wipe out? they know how to get back where they were and bigger. its just a matter of fixing your mind's perspective on your current situation. if all you see is shit thats what you'll get. go see something better, away from it all and remember to take a notepad ;)

What do you think Thomas Edison would say to this, a guy who made 1000s of attempts to create a working light bulb?

Thanks mate, I needed that reminder today. Cheers.

Did some more testing looking for some promising offer to then build on.

Click/leads
854/1
772/4
105/0
85/0
251/1
1955/124 (I didn't mean to send that many clicks. That's what happens when you set a budget too high and fall asleep. Big loss)

No luck with any of these.

I think I need to take a month or two off. Need to focus on taxes, because I'm going to get raped big time there. Had a nice gross income thise year, but profit wasn't so great.

Normally when shit tanks people(myself included) get sloppy and lazy. If you're running too many campaigns, knock a bunch out and concentrate on just one. Look at it for individual problems rather than as a unit.
Like low CTR ads? Work on the ads.
Low conversion ratio? Work on the lander, and start switching up the offers. Remember to try a couple different networks.
Low landing page CTR? Work on the lander.

Big problems are unmanagable. Tiny problems are easy.
