I just uploaded a new Facebook app that's actually a really good game, not just the usual bullshit ... so a few of my friends gave me their Facebook passwords and said I could invite their friends, post it on their walls, spam, whatever to help promote it. A lot of them are hot girls. Of course I invited every single person from each of their friends lists and posted links and videos of the game on their walls, but that's about it, and it resulted in some decent growth (about 5% of invited users installed the app). I also tried spamming the link/video to some of their friends' walls, but it didn't really increase the growth that much because I think most users are accustomed to apps spamming themselves like that.

It seems like a lot of wasted potential here, especially since all of the profiles are real, not just marketing/bullshit profiles. Anyone have any ideas on how to better take advantage of all these profiles and friends' friends?

Probably the best bet is to make the game so good that everyone who plays it finds it worthwhile to voraciously spam their friends. Gotta pavlovian condition them just right.

Yeah a lot of people are inviting 20-50 friends (since Facebook caps the invites at 50 and you have to re-click the invite link to get back to it), which is pretty good and I made a multiplayer mode that's more fun than the singleplayer, so it gets them to send invites. Maybe I'll introduce some incentive like "invite 300 friends and get this special upgrade."

I would like to take advantage of this initial boost of friends if possible though, but aside from spamming invites I can't think of any uses for them.
