While the US isn't the only country with some value... if the value of a dollar reaches that of say the value of a Zimbabwe Dollar, you know the rest of the world is right there with us or worse. Who knows maybe Australia will be the new super power :D hehe
 
Some friends and I have a detailed plan to take over the local Costco in the event of a zombie uprising. It seems the best place to fortify.

I would guess that a total collapse of the economy would lead the United States to be a bit more like India.

10,000 billionaires and a billion beggars.

Hopefully we won't degenerate to India's level of barbarism, but I wouldn't count on it. Read about India's "slumdog millionaires" here. Prepare to be not happy.

I always thought gun nuts were funny. Not that I discount the value of a good sidearm for self-defense. But whenever they start talking about SHTF scenarios, they spend all their time talking about what guns they want to have when the world ends. What are they going to eat? The big pile of brass they're left standing in after they unload on each other?

The only one who ever had a good comeback was one fella who said, "First thing I'm going to do when SHTF is go find a big mormon family."

Exactly. And it's not like you have to stay there forever. You just have to outlast the rest of the town, let the zombies take the rest.

Costco has an extensive pharmacy as well, complete with green tea, acai berry and muscle milk.
