Posted this over at webhostingtalk, but figured I'd try here as well so I can get working on some domains.

I'm connected to my landlord's wireless network - no access to router.

When I go to view my sites hosted on my vps it doesn't resolve and just returns a "server not found" error. But when I view it through a proxy such as hidemyass.com it, along with other domains on there resolves fine.

It's only happening for domains hosted on my vps and not other sites.

I've tried a ipconfig /flushdns but it seems that because I'm on a router it's not effective?

I've also tried to visit the site on different browsers as well as on my laptop, still the same thing. Normally I just sit and wait and then it fixes itself, but I realized its getting annoying and I should find a solution to this lol.

One of the following:

A) the DNS for those domains hasn't propogated to your nameserver
B) your network is being denied (IP filter somewhere along the line)
C) your destination is being filtered
D) routing error; some ISP along the way isn't getting your network routes (BGP routes stuck somewhere, or there's a routing loop that's timing out your packets)

- Use "nslookup domain.com" and "nslookup subdomain.domain.com" from home to make sure you have DNS for that site(s).
- Use Traceroute from home to your VPS IP
- Use Traceroute from your VPS to your home IP

You can try Ping too, for giggles.

If electrical box on exterior throw your landlords master breaker to off for 60 seconds then back on. This should reset the router and modem.
