I don't think their plan is to not allow users to register for their product. They got you to sign up. Law of scarcity ftw.

yes except I still didn't sign up. I didn't even open their invitation email! Had they not sent me an invite that quick, the law of scarcity would probably have had a better effect on me. I would have ended up on WF begging for an invite like a bitch. lol

Google Wave did a better job using the law of scarcity. I remember I was so fucking happy to get my invite... it ended up being a big failure though, just like Google+ is gonna be.

I've been checking out Pininterest, too, after receiving an invitation. It looks promising, but I haven't gotten around to creating an actual account. I think it works for some businesses better than others.
