What's the joke about being an Amazon Associate?

$4k = 4%... Should be higher than that shouldn't it? You only have to ship a minimum of 7 items in a month to move up to 6%.

I think Amazon definitely deserve more credit, the possible 8.5% is a really good rate for specific products. Many brands tend to offer up to 12%, but some stores like Toys R Us offer just 3%.

During the World Cup I wanted to push those Jabulani footballs, but the sport stores were only selling the Glider versions. Adidas sold them all (but ran no affiliate program) and the one other place was Amazon.com. At Amazon you could find the Jabulani Final ball, the Jabulani match ball, all of the Gliders and even the MLS versions. Because Amazon have become so popular now a lot of manufacturers tend to go straight to them first as well, so you can pick up plenty of buzz products there before anywhere else.

Very nice!

Electronics stay at 4% not matter how much volume you push.

Here is the commission structure for general items:

1-6 items: 4.00%
7-30 items: 6.00%
31-110 items: 6.50%
111-320 items: 7.00%
321-630 items: 7.50%
631-1570 items: 8.00%
1571-3130 items: 8.25%
3131+ items: 8.50%

There's already more then enough quotes in this thread to prove it.

I've done well over $100,000 in sales for amazon and made a measly $4k.

Not to mention their payment system is at least 2 and 1/2 months behind. I JUST got paid for june.....

is it NET 60 ?

also, 100k and 4k in commission ? doesn't make sense, if you were selling that many items, you would be getting at least 8k on the lower end.

not to mention people buy big items.

how long is the amazon cookie ? 24 hours ?

if someone gets cookie with IE, if they make purchase with firefox, then no commission right ?

is there not a parasite hosting benefit to the whole thing though? I know they have the astore subdomain or some shit but ive seen some amazon affs ranking pretty highly with just a few links. Suppose G could eventually filter it out though. C

Kid...just shut up already. Plz? Im tired of you.

Called your bluff.

If you want to make some money, quit posting and start doing some research on some of the posts here. Better yet, read my blog and MrGreen.am. That's the best help you're going to get from anybody. If I recall, there was also an excellent post on getting started in the previous thread you made. Follow up on that post.

Wow !! This has really been entertaining. Goes to show you why I don't watch TV anymore. :)

Also to the OP.... If you didn't get any nuggets from this then you never will. :)

Not quite LY2!

Referral rate @ Amazon.com is 4% to 8.5%.
Referral rate @ Amazon.co.uk is 5% to 9%.

The rates rise the more items you ship. There are many products on Amazon that can't be found elsewhere so it makes sense to use them if you run a load of niche sites like I do. Just remember that Amazon is America's largest online retailer and gets three times the sales revenue of the runner up (Staples), so I doubt there's ever any issues when site visitors see the Amazon logo.

dude, i sold $2500 worth amazon products to get my first $100. That's what 4% means.

It means good luck bros.
