What's up with Ebay

Talked to a good friend yesterday that has been doing EBay sales for several years and is doing nearly a hundred grand in business each month.

He suggested that I set up a store and start selling, so I went there this morning to set up an account and get things started.

Much to my surprise they have a limit of 10 items (or $1000) in sales per month for the first three months and only then will they consider allowing you to do more transactions. This combined with the fact that I cannot use my own credit card processor is a real disappointment.

I called them and offered to set up one of their $250.00/month stores but they told me it did not matter, that I would only be allowed to put 10 items in the store for the first three months and then I would still need to request a review to get the limit listed.

So they have made it a slow and very painful process.

Does anyone know a way around the limit? When I talked to them on the phone I felt like I was talking to the post office... no discussion, no exceptions, these are the rules and we don't care what you think.

It says in their terms of service that you are welcome to have multiple accounts that can all be linked to the same PayPal account, but they can close all of the accounts at once if they feel that you opened the accounts for the purpose of getting around the listing limits. I could see some mindless clerk shutting all the accounts down some Monday morning (without warning of course) and then its just a big hassle.

Any ideas?

They would probably let you get away with having multiple stores if each store sold a different type of item. Just dont have the same kind of crap in each store.
